Frequently asked Questions

  • 1. What is silicone render and why is it so popular?

Silicone render is a breathable, flexible, self‑cleaning render system that resists cracking and stays cleaner for longer. It’s ideal for both modern and older properties and comes in a wide range of colours.

    2. What is monocouche render?

Monocouche is a through‑colour render, meaning the pigment is mixed into the material. It provides a crisp, modern finish and doesn’t require painting.

    3. How long does rendering last?

    • Silicone render: 20–30+ years

    • Monocouche: 15–25 years

    • EWI systems: Up to 25 years (manufacturer dependent)

Longevity depends on substrate condition, weather exposure, and maintenance

  • Yes. If the existing render is blown, cracked, hollow, or unstable, we remove it. If it’s sound, we may apply a reinforced basecoat over the top

  • Yes. Silicone render systems come in hundreds of colours, and we can match most existing finishes

  • Most homes take 5–14 days, depending on size, preparation work, and weather conditions

  • Rendering is weather‑dependent.
    We may pause work during:

    • Heavy rain

    • Frost

    • High winds

    • Extreme heat

This protects the integrity of the finish

  • Silicone render alone does not insulate, but EWI (External Wall Insulation) combined with silicone render significantly improves thermal performance

  • Typical guide pricing:

    • Silicone render: £72–£95 per m²

    • Monocouche: £62–£85 per m²

    • EWI + silicone: £120–£160 per m²

    Do you offer payment plans?

Payment plans may be available for larger projects. Ask during your site survey.

  • How do I maintain silicone render?

Silicone render is self‑cleaning, but occasional low‑pressure washing keeps it looking new.

    Will my render crack?

Silicone render is highly flexible and designed to resist cracking.
Cracks caused by building movement are not covered by warranty.

Can I paint over silicone render?

It’s not recommended. Silicone render is designed to be colour‑fast and breathable.

How soon can I hang fixtures (lights, cameras, signs)?

We recommend waiting 7–14 days after completion.

    Yes. Warranties vary by system:

    • Silicone: up to 10 years

    • Monocouche: up to 5 years
